• Fabrizio Cena

I was born in a small Italian town called Chivasso. My ancestors were lumberjacks who came down in 1456 from the Alps in the Po Valley in northern Italy, to help deforest and conquer land to farm. They became a generation of farmers and it is thanks to their centuries-old work that the region, barren as it was, was transformed into an authentic garden.

Besides Italy, I also lived in Spain and London, and visited many other nations, which exposed me to several different types of peoples, cultures, lifestyles, and needs. One of the biggest needs I saw in these countries was that of physical well-being and healing. I then noticed how vital skilled healers are, which prompted me to look into becoming a dentist in order to provide the much-needed information and relief. After seeing the contribution dentistry gives to society in terms of relieving people from pain and helping them improve their lives, I realized it was the right path for me.

My favorite words since I started seeing patients have been 'It is so much better now.' It melts my heart every time a patient comes to me with a complaint about a tooth or a denture or something mouth-related and, after treating them, they tell me how much better they feel. I love being able to improve people's smiles and lives through dentistry. I am very proud of the understanding and perspective this career has given me thus far. I can't wait to keep learning and growing so that I can adequately help others in need. I am very grateful for this profession and the good I have the opportunity to do. Every day, I love this profession more and more.

I am married and have an 18-month-old daughter named Luna. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s in Public Health in 2016. I then attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2021, graduating in the top 10% of my class. My hobbies include martial arts, exercising, playing soccer and trying new food places.
