A Smile Again

Dentures

Modern dentures look and feel far better than the ones your grandparents wore. Comfortable, custom-fitted, and designed to help you eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Reviewed by Dr. Mini Nair, DDS — Updated 2026

Full dentures

A full denture replaces all the teeth in the upper arch, the lower arch, or both. Each denture is custom-made from impressions of your mouth, then fitted in multiple appointments to ensure comfort and natural appearance. The teeth are shaped and shaded to blend with your features — so people notice your smile, not your denture.

Partial dentures

A partial denture replaces a few missing teeth while keeping your healthy natural teeth in place. Partials use a metal or flexible framework that clasps around neighboring teeth, holding the replacement teeth securely in position.

Implant-supported dentures

For patients who struggle with denture stability — especially lower dentures that tend to shift — implant-supported dentures can be a life-changing upgrade. Implant placement is referred to a trusted local oral surgeon, then Dr. Nair designs, fits, and follows up on the denture portion so the whole system works together.

What to expect

  • Initial exam, records, and treatment planning
  • Custom impressions of your mouth
  • Try-in appointments to verify fit, bite, and appearance
  • Final delivery and any needed adjustments
  • Follow-up visits to fine-tune comfort

Adjustment period

New dentures always take a little getting used to. In the first few weeks, you may notice increased saliva, minor soreness, and some changes in speech — all completely normal and temporary. We'll see you for follow-up visits as often as needed to make sure your denture feels right.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get dentures?+

The full process typically takes several weeks, including impressions, try-in appointments to check fit and appearance, and final delivery. We don't rush it because getting the fit right matters more than getting them fast.

Will dentures look natural?+

Modern dentures look far better than they used to. The teeth are shaped and shaded to match your facial features, and we work with you during try-in appointments to make sure you're happy with the appearance before finalizing them.

Can I eat normally with dentures?+

Most patients return to eating a wide variety of foods after the adjustment period. Start with soft foods and work up gradually. Implant-supported dentures restore even stronger biting force for patients who need extra stability.

How long do dentures last before they need to be replaced?+

With proper care, dentures typically last 5 to 10 years. Your jawbone changes shape over time, so even well-maintained dentures may eventually need to be relined or remade for a proper fit.

What is the difference between full and partial dentures?+

Full dentures replace all teeth in an arch (upper, lower, or both). Partial dentures replace a few missing teeth while keeping your healthy natural teeth in place, using a framework that clasps around neighboring teeth.

Do you handle implant-supported dentures?+

Implant placement itself is referred out to a trusted local specialist. Once your implants are in place, Dr. Nair handles the denture portion — designing, fitting, and following up on the prosthetic so everything works together.
